Planning - What Is Our Film About?

What is our film about?
Our film is about a man who has a normal life until he has a flashback, and then everything changes.  The flashback a man has as he is walking down the street like it is any other normal day, he sees his mother and his father fighting, then watches his father murder his mother, however his father doesn’t know that he has been watching from underneath the bed. The man is angry about this so he then continues to track down his father and has a hellish journey in for him when he finds him. He keeps on searching for his father, not knowing if he is dead or not, but he is determined to track down his father and avenge his mother’s death even if he ends up in jail for killing his father himself. 10 years later and he has become obsessed with the hunt, he still hasn’t found his father, and the pain and time it has caused him has been wasted, or so he feels, but it hasn’t. After 5 years of giving up he gets onto a bus to see his father sat on a seat, not realising that it’s his son, the son continues on until the father gets off and at his stop he gets off and follows him home, and the father is never seen again.
The opening will show a man walking down the street, and then having a sudden flashback, so he looks like he is day dreaming. The flashback horrifies him and angers him at the same time. Once the flashback has happened the film goes to the open credits where it is shown that he starts doing his research in order to find his father like how the opening credits where the killer is covering up his tracks except in our opening he will be researching.
Our film fits in with the genre of a thriller, because it will contain suspense and excitement making you wonder what is going to happen next, therefore keeping you in your toes. It will also have the psychological elements to it that a thriller will usually contain. The music will be like a thriller, slow and have a creepy essence like most thrillers, giving Goosebumps. Also the violence in the opening will make it a thriller, the way the mother is beaten to death by the father.
