The genre we are doing is Thriller. Thriller films usually have an age certificate of either a ‘15’ or ‘18’. Our thriller would be aimed at people over 15, as it may contain content that is unsuitable for younger than 15. The target audience is typically men and women aged over 15 like a typical thriller. The audience that chooses to watch thrillers need to be aware that the film can mess with your mind psychologically and also there can be blood and guts, which can be gruesome.

Surveys are done to find out how many people in specific age groups visit the cinema. Young people aged between 15 and 24 are more likely to go the cinema more than any other age group. A study that was done in 2002 showed that 50 percent of the people that went to the cinema one or more a month were in the age group of 15 to 24. Compared to the 17 percent that are aged 35 and over. Over half of 15 to 34 year olds and almost three quarters of those aged 35 and over who went to the cinema once a month or more went with their partner or spouse.
